Merry Christmas

アメリカンとブリティッシュに同じ質問したら
回答が段違いだった件。
経験の違い?色んな意味で。
厄払いって、日本人すぎる。

Hi
Merry Christmas Eve
I have 2 questions;
@Do you think both
‘ Merry Christmas and a happy new year’
And ‘Merry Christmas and happy new year’
Are fine?
With and without’a’?
@ which do you prefer to use
‘Merry Christmas’
Or ‘happy Christmas ‘
Or ‘ happy holidays ‘?
Thanks in advance
Have a beautiful day

「あなたは‘Merry Christmas and a happy new year’と‘Merry Christmas and happy new year’ のどちらが正しいと思いますか?
aの有無で。

あなたは
‘Merry Christmas’
Or ‘happy Christmas ‘
Or ‘ happy holidays ‘?
のどれを使いますか?
宜しくお願いします。

Merry Christmas and a happy new year’は書き言葉でMerry Christmas and happy new year’は話し言葉ってとこかな。

Happy Christmas はおしゃれにきこえるね、確かジョンレノンがはじめに使ったかな。
僕は使わないけどね。

I have always used Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as greetings, and A Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year in sentences.

It seems fashionable to say Happy Christmas (I think John Lennon was one of the first) but I have never said it.

Wow
That’s such an eye opener to me.
I’ve did the same question to my new coworker, an American alt and he said both are okay but not in detail
Thank you for your time and wonderful explanation, I’m really appreciate it.
Enjoy the rest of your day today

Today I went to a shrine to receive purification for 厄年, as I will turn 60 in March as you know.
